Accreditation
Victor Valley Christian School (VVCS) is a college preparatory, private institution serving K-12th grade students. VVCS has been a part of the High Desert community since 1971. VVCS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Curriculum
The primary curriculum used in K-6th grade is Bob Jones University Press (BJU). In grades 7th through 12th, BJU and various other curriculum are used, including College Board approved Advance Placement (AP) materials.
Course Offerings
Courses offered meet or exceed the University of California standards, and are therefore a-g approved courses. Advanced Placement (AP) courses as well as college-level courses are offered as a means of obtaining college credits, while attending high school.
School Calendar
The academic program is organized in a traditional format with seven, 50 minute class sessions per day, Monday through Friday. School is in session beginning in August, and ending by June. Elementary students begin classes at 8:15am, and are dismissed from school at 3:00pm. Secondary students begin classes at 8:00am, and are dismissed from school at 3:15pm.
College Readiness Program
Victor Valley Christian School participates in the local transition to college and career program called Bridge. This program helps to prepare student for post high school college course work, as well as career options
Cultural Climate
Victor Valley Christian School has a diverse student population. With no more than 20% of its overall population consisting of international students on F-1 VISAs.
Standardized Test Results
Standardized testing is conducted each spring with 1st through 7th grade students. PSAT testing is conducted in the spring with our 8th and 9th grade students, and in the fall with our 10th and 11th grade students. SAT prep workshops and other services are made available to students in high school.
Post High School Placement
Approximately 70% of our students matriculate directly into 4-year colleges and/or universities, with the remainder entering junior college, vocational schooling, or the military.
